Junior Rugby Triumph against St Mary's Drogheda

Rugby Team Triumph!

On Thursday, January 16th, our St. Ciarán’s Junior Rugby Team traveled to Boyne RFC in Drogheda for a Duff Shield match against St. Mary’s. From the kickoff, the boys put St. Mary’s under pressure, with Dillon Glynn scoring early after a slick pass from Stephen Cassidy. Captain Tehan Stander added another try, converted by Adam Healy Moore, giving us a strong 12–0 lead.

Before halftime, Jonah Beacroft crossed the line, but St. Mary’s responded with a converted try. A fantastic try-saving tackle by scrum-half Liam Lynch kept our defense solid, securing a 17–7 lead at the break.

In the second half, Oskar Vitkauskas powered over from a 10m scrum, and Tehan Stander scored again after a great tackle. Adam Healy Moore capped off the day with a try from a breakout starting with Dillon Glynn’s relieving kick. Final score: St. Ciarán’s 34 – St. Mary’s 7.

A massive team effort with standout performances from Captain Tehan Stander, Jonah Beacroft, Harvey English, Dillon Glynn, and Adam Healy Moore. Thanks to our amazing Coach Senan McDermott, and all at North Meath RFC, and our fantastic teachers Mr. Sean Gardiner and Mr. Sean Wright.
