1st Year Gaelic - Semi Final Victory

St Ciaran’s 1st years made the most of the bright conditions and fast surface, embracing the spirit of summer football with an impressive away win over Kilbeggan.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing early on, however. Kilbeggan came out with intent and put St Ciaran’s under pressure in the opening stages, leaving the visitors needing time to settle. But as the half wore on, St Ciaran’s began to grow into the game, finding their rhythm and moving the ball with increasing confidence.

A big factor in that turnaround was the athleticism of Peter Barrett, whose energy around the middle third helped swing momentum, while Rian Daly provided a rock-solid presence in defence, consistently reading the play and breaking up Kilbeggan attacks.

Up front, Danny Keane proved the difference-maker. His eye for goal and composed finishing resulted in a series of well-taken scores that ultimately sealed the victory for St Ciaran’s.

The impact of the bench also injecting fresh energy at key moments to keep the tempo high and maintain control in the closing stages.

To cap off a great day on the road, the squad finished up in Park Ri to refuel after a superb team performance.

All in all, a strong win, and now attention turns to an exciting final showdown against local rivals St Oliver’s, Oldcastle, in what promises to be a cracking derby.
