Senior Gaelic Team Defeat Mercy Ballymahon
St Ciarans CS 2-12
Mercy Ballymahon 1-14
Our senior boys Gaelic football team had a brilliant win away to Ballymahon in their North Leinster Senior Football B League game today.
St Ciarans started strongly but were pegged back by a very good Ballymahon side. It took a goal from Luke Harte just before half time to send the sides in level at the break, 1-06 to 0-09.
Ballymahon started the second half strongly and goaled themselves to go 5 clear. But credit to St Ciaran's who never panicked. Driven on by our 2nd half substitutes, St Ciaran's battled back against the wind to only trail by 2 as the game entered the final minute. A brilliant move worked down the pitch and Shane Callaghan tucked away a great finish for a brilliant team goal.
The lads defended well as Ballymahon looked for an equaliser, to secure a second win in the North Leinster League. A fantastic performance by all members of the squad. Well done lads.
