2D Religion - St Brigid

As we head into the Bank Holiday weekend, 2D has been learning all about our female patron saint, Saint Brigid. The students learned about her life and significance and created the iconic symbol of St Brigid’s Cross, using traditional rushes. We discussed the meaning of the cross, which represents faith, protection and blessing for the home, and reminds us of St Brigid’s kindness, generosity and care for others. It was a lovely, hands-on activity that brought our learning to life. Thanks to Mr Lynch for teaching them theses wonderful traditional skills.
